Are conservatories worth it?

It depends, usually conservatories have a good return on investment, generally speaking they are quite cheap in comparison to standard brick extensions. That being said, there are a variety of different types of styles you can choose from, some more appealing than others. Most of the time you will get back more than what you put in with a conservatory, as long as it is done to a high standard.

Average conservatories cost

As a general rule of thumb you should expect to pay between £2,000 to £2,500 per square metre of the conservatories & on average you can typically expect to pay £15K+ for a good quality conservatory, however uPVC is considerably cheaper which you can get from around 5K.

Here’s a bit of a breakdown of the costs involved:

  • Foundations – £120/p cubic metre
  • Roofing – Between £20 – £50/p square metre
  • Brickwork – £80/p square metre
  • Base / Damp proofing – £100/p cubic metre

This is just an idea, and it depends on the type of conservatory you go for as to the work included in doing so.
